RHS HAMPTON COURT FLOWER SHOW 2009
This year we had the privilege of being asked by
New Barn Timber Products, to supply 10 Buff Sussex pullets and a cockerel for the RHS Hampton Court Flower Show (2009). New Barn Timber supplied the beautifully handcrafted poultry house. The
area was designed by Sarah Eberle, gold medal-winning garden designer and Best in Show at Chelsea 2007 and built by her team
including contractor Peter Dowle.
The ‘Garden Energy’ feature focused on climate change, past, present
and future, garden energy generation and the effects of climate change.
Supported by the Met Office and the RHS
Science and Advice Team this feature offered ideas about ways we can limit contributing to further climate change and help
moderate its consequences.
Male and Female plumage:Body rich even golden - buff. Head and neck hackles buff, sharply striped
with green-black. Wings buff, with black in the flights. Tail and coverts greeny black. Dark undercolour, though buff is preferred. We
added this colour to our flock in 2007 and now have Large fowl and bantams, that we are using to breed from. Buff Sussex Bantams We added these to our flock in 2007.
They have laid well during the year.
